Yes I sat through this movie. No I didn’t finish it. Let me explain further.

There’s a reason why Hollywood doesn’t do live action adaptations of beloved anime such as ‘DragonBall’. A lot of anime- especially fantasy- is very over the top. ‘DragonBall’ is such a example.

I’ve only read the first two issues of the manga and only one episode of the beloved 80’s anime and I’ve enjoyed both of them.

After the embarrassing failure of the recent ‘Snow White’ live action “remake” I decided to give this a go because it’s now no longer listed as the worst thing out there. I. Was. So. Wrong.

Young warrior Goku (Justin Chatwin) must gather and protect seven mythical balls that unlock the Wish Dragon which would grant anyone any wish their heart desires.

Sounds very similar to the manga and anime right? What could I possibly hate about it? The answer is simple. EVERYTHING! Everything from the awful special effects (I saw better effects on the ‘Twilight’ films, come on Fox!) to the writing to the direction that the film went in.

In fact, it was so bad that it turned off Hollywood for wanting to do anymore live action adaptations of anime including a live action version of ‘Cowboy Bebop’ that was in production from Fox at the time.

It was so bad that not even I could finish it and I had to watch ‘Sailor Moon’ to cure myself afterwards!
