There aren’t many singers who are also successful actors/actresses. In fact, not many can act. Britney Spears was one of those few that could do both

After several acting credits including a guest appearance on a episode of ‘Sabrina The Teenage Witch’, Britney got her own film ‘Crossroads’ (not to be confused with the TV series); a road trip drama.

This has been yet another film that I’ve been meaning to watch for quite sometime but was able to watch it when it finally came on to Netflix.

The story starts off with young Lucy and her two friends burying a box of “wishes” that they hope to achieve by midnight of their Graduation Day. After the years go by however, the three friends have drifted apart; Lucy (Britney) has become a bit of a “teacher’s pet”, getting perfect grades, Kit (Zoe Saldana) has become a “mean girl” Prom Queen and Mimi (Taryn Manning) has become pregnant and an outcast as a result.

After unearthing the box their childhood memories start coming back and they remember how close they had been as children. Mimi mentions a audition in L.A. and suggests that the two come with her the next day. Along with Ben (Anson Mount) – who, reluctantly at first, takes them in his car- they drive to L.A. and rediscover their childhood friendship along the way.

Of course, the other reason why I wanted to watch this is mainly because of Britney Spears herself, a artist I’ve always had respect and enjoyed since childhood. The scenery of the American landscape is gorgeous and the soundtrack (some of which include songs from Britney’s third album ‘Britney’) is also worth a listen.

If you are a fan of Britney Spears and like a good road trip film, I really recommend it.
